Highlights:
Mafra National Palace is one of the biggest and impressive Palaces in the world, the biggest in Iberian Peninsula (Portugal and Spain), started building in 1717 by King John the fifth, is one of the major baroque architecture references in the world, with more than 1200 rooms and about 40.000 sqm! This vast complex is among the most sumptuous Baroque buildings in Portugal and one of the biggest buildings constructed in Europe in the 18th century, built with Brazilian Gold (As Brazil being an old colony from Portugal), 52.000 men were working daily to build this imponent palace. Also has a stunning library with more than 36.000 books, along with Rococo style. Unique in the world is also its pipe organs: more than 6 imponent organs still working after 300 years. The Palace records the oldest Carillon in Europe, and the biggest in the World, consists of 92 bells, weighing total 200 tons (440.000 Pounds!). It was conveniently located for hunting in the nearby forests and was usually a secondary residence for the royal family. The visit will later follow to Ericeira, a coast fisherman village, to enjoy great views and relax before returning to your hotel.

Itinerary
This private tour to Mafra and Ericeira is a very light tour, for customers who wish to visit one of the major baroque palaces in the world in the morning period, followed by a visit to the Ericeira Fishernam Village close by, over the morning and early afternoon period. Although the itinerary can be adjusted during the day, this is the standard itinerary:
- Start the tour from your hotel (optional 8h30AM) and drive towards Mafra Palace (50min)
- Guided visit to the Mafra National Palace (approx 1h30m)
- Stop for a quick coffee after visiting the Palace (20min)
- Drive towards Ericeira Village and stop for a visit (45min)
- Return to Lisbon around 2PM
* Mafra National Palace is closed on Tuesdays, therefore this tour is not being operated on this day.
* Times on each stop may vary, depending on group pace and preferences, since all our tours are private.
* Admission fees and lunch/meals are not included.

– We know plans can change and we accept changes to the original booking for another day, if we have availability, without any extra charge
– In case your trip needs to be canceled/postponed, the customer will be able to use the full amounts paid, as credit, that can be used for any future trip, within 3 years time, according to the following policy terms. No amounts will be lost, in case you need to reschedule/postpone/cancel your trip.
* Cancellation between 365 days and 48hours before tour date: 100% of amounts paid, will be available as a future credit, to be used within 3 years time with our company, for any tours.
* Cancellation less than 48hours before tour date: no refund
* No show: no restitution / payment in full
* Tickets for Events or Attractions are non-refundable
* Airport transfers, Limousine tours, or Helicopter Tours are non-refundable after booking.
* Hotel reservations are non-refundable, unless mentioned.
* Cruise ship tours are 100% refundable anytime if for any reason cruise ship doesn’t dock in Lisbon.
* In case you are unable to travel for medical reasons, anytime and any moment, even 48h before the tour date, 100% of amounts paid, will be available as future credit, to be used within 3 years time with our company, for any tours.
